Michael Hyatt has spent most of his career in the book publishing industry, most recently as the Chairman and CEO of Thomas Nelson Publishers, the seventh largest book publisher in the United States and the largest provider of inspirational live events in the world.

He now devotes his time to writing, consulting, product development and speaking. His blog is the top leadership blog in the world, with nearly 500,000 visitors a month. His podcast gets more than 300,000 downloads a month. In addition, more than 75,000 people subscribe to his daily updates. He also has more than 215,000 followers on Twitter and 38,000 on Facebook.

Michael has written seven books. His newest one, Platform: Get Noticed in a Noisy World (Thomas Nelson, 2012), is a New York Times, Wall Street Journal, USA Today, and Amazon bestseller.

He has been happily married to his wife, Gail, for thirty-six years. They have five daughters, five grandsons, and three granddaughters. They live outside of Nashville, Tennessee. In his free time, he enjoys reading, running, and golfing.

Platform University was the brainchild of Stu McLaren, who brought the idea to Michael Hyatt a couple years ago–and the rest is history. It’s been a fruitful partnership, and rewarding friendship ever since.

As a father and husband first, then entrepreneur, Stu McLaren believes that a business should be built around one’s lifestyle which is why his flagship product, WishList Member, was created.  It now powers over 43,000 online communities and membership sites, helping speakers, authors, experts and small business owners build community (from anywhere in the world) around their product, service or message.

This intentional approach to business has allowed Stu and his wife to simultaneously form and manage their own registered Canadian charity called World Teacher Aid.  Through this effort, they have built multiple schools and continue to fund monthly feeding programs throughout Africa.  So if he’s not building a school or business, he can be found free falling from planes, tall buildings or swimming with sharks (he likes to keep life interesting!).

Megan is the Dean of Platform University, and Vice President of Intentional Leadership, Michael Hyatt’s company. As his oldest daughter, she knows first-hand what it takes to build a super-charged platform. She is a born entrepreneur, starting her first business at age 10, cleaning the homes of neighbors to fund her passion for horseback riding. Megan has a background leading marketing and communications initiatives for small businesses and non-profits.

Megan is an activator and maximizer. She gets excited about getting things done, and she loves taking almost anything to the next level. (Consequently, her husband lives in fear of her weekend ‘honey-do’  lists.)  Megan and her husband Joel make their home in Franklin, Tennessee along with their four children, Fionn, Felicity, Moses and Jonah. Their two youngest children were adopted from Uganda in October 2011.

Mandi works to develop and deepen the community here at Platform University. Her primary focus is on connecting members with one another, and constantly working to improve the experience and learning opportunities for our members.

She began her career managing the speaker relationships of a motivational seminar company that produced massive arena events throughout the United States. This allowed her to work directly with many influential leaders, including Colin Powell, Steve Forbes, Bill Cosby & two former Presidents of the United States.

During this time, Mandi was able to learn firsthand what it takes to build and maintain a powerful platform and personal brand. In the years since then, Mandi has spent time planning conferences and retreats of all sizes.

Through these experiences, she has come to know that real transformation occurs when passionate people gather to learn from great leaders and from each other. This is why she is so passionate about serving the Platform University community.

Mandi lives in Apex, North Carolina where she serves as one of the leaders of Focus Church.

In her free time, she devours classic fiction books, bakes legendary treats (we’re trying to convince her to bring some brownies to our next conference!) and loves losing herself in live music of all kinds.

Madeline oversees our member support and keeps a constant ear to the ground so that we can continually improve your experience at Platform University. She is also one of Michael’s daughters. She is a passionate blogger on wellness and natural healing at She lives in Nashville, TN with her husband Shawn, an expert technology coach.

Trivinia Barber


Community Manager

Together with Suzie Barbour, Trivinia nurtures and oversees the community at Platform University.

As an Executive Assistant to Michael, Trivinia provides high level support for Michael and other Intentional Leadership team members, assisting with calendar management, scheduling, travel and other tasks to keep things running smoothly.

Trivinia began her career working for an Anesthesia group, providing EA services to over 50 physicians for more than 12 years. In 2012, Trivinia joined Michael’s team, and has since added other notable clients like Amy Porterfield to her client list.  As a business owner herself, Trivinia is eager to help other entrepreneurs in building their platforms and expanding their influence.

A mom to three girls, and the occasional foster child, Trivinia is passionate about Adoption through Foster Care and speaks to Non-Profit Adoption Ministries in her home state of Colorado, regularly.  Trivinia and her adventure-seeking husband of 13 years, Chris, love to Scuba Dive and one day plan to cage dive with Great White Sharks in South Africa.

Suzie Barbour

Together with Trivinia Barber, Suzie nurtures and manages the community at Platform University.

Suzie also supports Michael Hyatt and Megan Hyatt Miller as an Executive Assistant through eaHelp. Before working with eaHelp, Suzie was the Executive Support Manager of a team of assistants for a large motivational speaking company. During her time there, she supported C-level executives, and regularly worked with world-changing leaders like Colin Powell, Rudy Guiliani and the late Zig Ziglar.

Through supporting leaders like these, and now Michael, Suzie has learned exactly what it takes to build an impressive, high-profile platform. In addition to being an “administrative” guru, she has a passion for leadership and entrepreneurship.

Suzie and her husband, Justin, live in sunny, St. Petersburg, Florida with their daughter Amelia. In her sparetime, Suzie loves cooking (she’s Italian) and going to the beach! She also enjoys writing and blogs personally about faith, loss-recovery and life in general at Suzie double-majored in Journalism, Communications and Education at the University of South Florida.

Joy Groblebe is an entrepreneur at heart with a background in event planning, public relations, marketing and sales. Along with her business partner, Brian Scheer, she owns Frontline Management and serves clients including Ken Davis, Michael Hyatt, Michele Cushatt, Claire Diaz-Ortiz, Dr. Tim Kimmel and Jim Ryun. In addition, she is the owner of The Cupcake Tower, an online retail business.

Joy makes her home in Brighton, Colorado with her husband of 13 years, Travis, and their four young children, Jacob, Delaney, Sara and Eleanor. As a work from home professional, wife and mother, life is best described as a blessed, crazy mix of family, friends, travel, OU Football and venti non-fat no foam Starbucks lattes.

He is President of the Higher Level Group, a strategic marketing and development agency that works primarily with authors, professional speakers, and organizations doing good (making a positive difference in the world). In short, Daniel helps clients expand their influence.

Daniel has worked in the publishing / platform building business for over 10 years and has had the privilege of launching multiple bestselling books and helping to build many successful author brands. Daniel is also the founder of The Leadership and Influence Summit as well as several other online and offline initiatives.

On a personal side, Daniel is happily married and has two amazing daughters. When he’s not launching books or plotting to take over the world (kidding…maybe), he enjoys spending time with friends, serving at his local church and within his community.
